Apricot Hotel was a luxurious place, very close to the centre of town. Apart from the welcoming and friendly staff, highlights include the gorgeous central lobby, the rooftop pool (with views of the nearby lake), and a great selection of traditional and continental breakfasts (pho was made to order).
The artwork to me was an outstanding collection of contemporary Vietnamese art. It adorned the lobby and every floor. I would have been happy to take any piece home. The breakfasts could keep any glutton happy. They were artfully displayed with a cross cultural approach. The Apricot Hotel is a much appreciated respite from the hustle, bustle and noise of Hanoi.
Tucked alongside the Hoan Kiem Lake, Apricot Hotel has an old world-style elegance combined with all the modern luxuries you’d expect from a contemporary hotel. It’s close to most attractions, yet solidly built enough to absorb noise throughout the night. Staff are always on hand to help with any request and check-in was cheerful and efficient. Of the facilities, I can highly recommend the bar (excellent, well-mixed cocktails and beer on tap) and, relaxing swim after a hard days walk through the streets of this dynamic city.
