1. Tu Le – Mu Cang Chai (Yen Bai)
Mu Cang Chai is located at the foot of Hoang Lien Son range, at the height of more than 1,000m from the sea level, this place owns the gorgeous terraced rice fields, very impressive and imposing. terraces Mu Cang Chai is located in 3 communes: La Pan Tan, Che Cu Nha and De Xu Phinh. When the harvesting season comes, a yellow brightly dyed throughout the fields, valleys and hillsides that makes visitors feel like being lost in a certain realm. In addition to Mu Cang Chai, when arriving in Yen Bai, there’s another option for tourists, that’s visiting terraced rice fields in Tu Le, which is very interested in recent times. The best place to watch the terraced rice fields here is from Khau Pha pass.

The harvest season in Tu Le is from mid-September to mid-October, in this time, the weather is pretty cool as well, sometimes it may rain a bit, but there’s nothing will affect your trip.
2. Sapa – Muong Hoa, Ta Van village, Cat Cat village – Y Ty, Bat Xat (Lao Cai)
Lao Cai is definitely the center of the yellow terraced rice fields in northern Vietnam every September and October, with a lot of roads and valleys filled with the yellow and the delicious aroma of ripe grain. In Laos Cai, you can admire the scenery like Sapa, Muong Hoa, Ta Van village, Cat Cat village, Y Ty, Bat Xat,… some fields in Cat Cat and Ta Van change its color from the beginning of September. On the road from Sapa to Ta Van and Ta Phin, you’ll see a lot of beautiful rice terraces.

Located from Sapa about 70km, the road to Y Ty is a bit quite difficult for you to conquer, besides, it also goes through the beautiful landmarks, such as Ban Xeo, Muong Hum, Den Sang, Den Thang and ends in Y Ty. Therefore, in addition to admire the terraced rice fields, making a trip to this place is also like a cloud hunting journey to explore the roads through the golden rice fields in the North.
3. Hoang Su Phi – Xin Man (Ha Giang)
Ha Giang is also a point that tourists shouldn’t miss when visiting the Northern Vietnam in Harvest season. However, the rice fields in Ha Giang get ripe later than the places above, usually after October 10th. So, if you miss the opportunities to admire the gorgeous terraced rice fields above, you still have the opportunity to experience the harvest season late at the Hoang Su Phi and Xin Man, which are also poetic and brilliant as the beautiful scenery above.
