Coc Ly a is a medium sized minority peoples market where every Tuesday the tribes from the surrounding villages come to buy and sell goods and meet friends. You will find Flower H’mong (Red H’mong), Black Dao, Nung, Dzay and Tay peoples in attendance and the goods on offer range from local fruit and vegetables to livestock, handicrafts and clothes.

Sapa tour Day 1 – Overnight train to Sapa
Our tour guide will come to pick you up and transport all visitors to Hanoi Station to catch an overnight train departing from Hanoi and arriving at Lao Cai. We want to make sure that you will have the best transport experience with the 4-berth cabin along with soft sleeper and air-conditioner. Therefore, just enjoy your night in the 5-star cabin and sleep well until the next day early morning as you will arrive at Lao Cai station at around 6pm. Afterward, we will take you to Sapa town by shuttle bus, and get ready for the very unique excursion in this lovely town!

Sapa tour Day 2 – A trip to Ma Tra and Ta Phin village
The train will reach Lao Cai station at around 6:30pm. You will be then picked up and transported to your hotel room in Sapa by shuttle bus. After having breakfast at hotel, you will leave your luggage at hotel and then start trekking from Sapa to Ta Phin valley. Walking through the town for about 20 minutes before turning to a dirt road to Ma Tra being inhabited by Black H’mong ethnic. Continue trekking up the village and getting through paddies fields will lead you to an ancient Catholic abbey, built by French colonists.
Blend in the daily life of local people
Walk 2 km further to reach Ta Phin Village and explore the daily life of Red Dzao local people. Here you will have a good chance to buy woven and textile brocades, which is made by ethnic people and having picnic lunch before exploring village and Ta Phin Cave and small hamlet of Black H’mong people. At the end of day, you will return to Sapa by van in group to check in at your hotel and have some rest before our trip’s last day.
Sapa tour Day 3 – Welcome to Coc Ly market!
Coc Ly Market is a very small market where you will get the unique opportunity to meet several ethnic minorities such as the Flower H’mong, Black Dao, Phu La, Nung and Tay. You will see the ethnic people gather to buy and sell goods, dine and drink, or just wander to enjoy the ambience of the montagnard market by the Chay River.

After spending about 2 hours by car, you will arrive at Coc Ly market and join local ethnic people to enjoy the exciting atmosphere as well as activities of this weekly market. Then, tourists will have lunch at a local restaurant and get a quick nap before continuing the excursion with the boat trip on Chay River. Enjoy scenic view from river and trek to Dzao, Tay minority villages. Along the way we will pay a visit to Vietnam – China International Border Gade.
