Sapa is the most attractive mountain place must be visited on any northern Vietnam itinerary. On a clear day, you will be treated to views of steeply terraced rice fields, towering verdant ridgelines, primitive mud-thatched villages, raging rivers, and astounding waterfalls. Today I will make a review on our latest tour in Sapa!
The best Sapa homestay tour we have ever reviewed!
We have nothing but amazing things to say about our trekking guide and his homestay in a small village in Sapa. We were met at the train station in Lao Cai upon arrival and were driven in a private van the 1-hour winding roads up the beautiful mountainside to Sapa. Here we were greeted with a buffet breakfast from a local fancy hotel before heading out on our trek.
We trekked for 3 hours through remote villages and up and down rice terraces, completely secluded from tourists and able to embrace raw Sapa culture and community. My friend was our leader and she was a young and spunky tour guide, has incredible knowledge about local traditions and cultural stories. After trekking through 8 different countries in Southeast Asia, we feel as though this was the most amazing cultural experience.
One of the best tour we have ever made!
We arrived at a local village, perfectly suited for guests with clean and comfortable accommodations, hot water, bathrooms, and showers, not to mention fantastic food and an adorable family to welcome us! We ate lunch and had some rest and relaxation before heading out on another 2-hour trek around the mountain that encompasses the village. We arrived back at the homestay around 5, in time for a hot shower and another delicious meal!
The next day we headed out again, trekking back towards Sapa but on another route; the perfect way to maximize our exposure to Sapa’s village tribes and culture. The ethnic people brought an amazing picnic lunch that we ate riverside before heading back towards the town in the afternoon.
This homestay tour offers more than anyone could possibly need – food and drinks are available at all times! The local people are adorable, and it is a great way to bring trekkers into remote areas. That’s why I made this Sapa tour review to offer you an overview about one of the best place to visit in Vietnam!
