"Must visit Sapa"
De La Baie d’Halong aux Temples d’Angkor , December 2012
Reviewed On: Dec 11, 2019We trekked through Sapa for 3 days with 4 children, aged 9 - 14, and absolutely loved it. We had the most amazing guide, her name was Pang and she was so knowledgeable about the area, spoke English really well, always friendly and made sure we didn’t miss a photo opportunity. Thanks Pang, you are a star. I’m not going to lie, some of the trekking was quite tough when covering 10km per day, but Pang took us on some easier paths when needed and the home stays at the end of the day were above expectation. We were well fed and able to rest and rejuvenate for the next day of adventures. Yeo –Singapore
"Fantastic Sapa Trekking and homestay adventure!"
De La Baie d’Halong aux Temples d’Angkor , December 2012
Reviewed On: Dec 03, 2019The 3 days trekking escapade in beautiful Sapa and visiting the many villages was most exciting and fulfilling!! A memorable trip that will be remembered for a long time. We trekked on dirt roads and nature trails up the mountains and across many villages, Ma Tra, Ta Phin, Lao Chai, Ta Van, Suoi Ho, Giang Cha, where tribes like Black H'mong, Red Dzao, Zay can be spotted easily. Learn about their rich cultures, colourful costumes and way of life. Appreciate the calmness and simplicity of nature in these beautiful mountains. The joy of achievement and satisfaction of navigating the many winding roads and uneven stone stairs up the mountains. The surrounding landscape which is so wide and far with views of the valleys and villages. Marvelled at the waterfall and vast paddy fields. The bamboo forest was equally magnificent and mind blowing. A trip that I would describe as 'inspiring and fulfilling' or maybe even 'enriching and peaceful'. Highly recommended if you love trekking in the nature! Kartik-British
"Trip to Sapa"
De La Baie d’Halong aux Temples d’Angkor , December 2012
Reviewed On: Dec 06, 2019So, my family and I travelled to Hanoi, Vietnam. We were recieved by the travel agency that we booked prior to the trip. The travel manager, Xuan, was welcoming and energetic when we arrived, even though it was past her work time. She told us about the place where we were going and brought us to the nearby train station for a 8 hour train ride. Overall, the organization by the travel manager was superb as we covered all the things that we wanted to do such as trekking and visiting a museum for example. Even after the trip, she met up with us invited to eat with her. Would definitely recommend for first time go'ers of Sapa. Young Woo-Korea
"Top Class Service"
De La Baie d’Halong aux Temples d’Angkor , December 2012
Reviewed On: Dec 04, 2019It was a random enquiry email to Trekking Sapa that linked me to Tam. I am absolutely delighted to have her help in organising my 3D4N trekking trip for my group of 7 persons. From our first contact on 8 July 2019 to our trip taking place from 20 to 25 November, I had asked Tam lots of questions, inundated her with numerous requests and changes either via email, WhatsApp or calls via WhatsApp. She did not once lose her patience, but was always accommodating, polite, super prompt in her replies even if it was very late into the night. Once, I accidentally rang her mobile at 2.31am, Tam promptly took my call!!! Tam often anticipated my group needs, eg, helping us to minimise airport transfer inconvenience at affordable charge. On 21 November evening, Tam met my group and took us to Hanoi Train Station. This was very helpful as there were minimal signages in the station and in Vietnamese language too. Tam collected our train tickets and brought us to the correct train and cabins. Tam said that it is not her company's policy to gather customers' feedback in person. On 25 November morning, despite knowing that my group was very unhappy over the arrangement of limousine van transport, Tam bravely met us to receive our feedback. I could see her reddened eyes. No doubt that there were hiccups during our tour which I think Trekking Sapa's management must look into: 1. Let customers know in advance that an overnight bag needs to be packed and self carry for the home stay. 2. Let customers know that we need VND cash to buy handicrafts from village ladies and kids as a form of appreciation for assisting us during the trek. Cash is also needed as beverages are not included in our meals. 3. The Fansipan cable train ticket was only for 1 way. Customers should not be walking down 600 steps in a 7 degrees cold windy weather 4. Eco Sapa's Limousine Van’s no: 29B-162.61 transport from Sapa to Hanoi on 24 November is not acceptable. * since it is a private car transfer, why we have another passenger when we are already a big group of 7 persons? * should not put 8 people in a 9-seater minivan. The 2 front seat with driver should not be counted at all. * lack of luggage space for all passengers, * with full luggages loaded, 3 seats at last row cannot recline, which makes it uncomfortable for a 6 hours journey * dripping air-con water on right last row seat, which wet my daughter’s pullover * left last row sea was not anchored tight, therefore a very bumpy ride especially when over road humps The Good - Overall good and clean food served in comfortable environment, nothing to complain of - Hmong local guide, My is flexible when we make changes to our plan during the trip. She speaks good English. - overall good value for money given our choice of accommodation e.g. Silk Path, individual rooms for home stay In my opinion, Tam has delivered her very best given the constraints that she faced. I have no doubt that it is through dedicated staff like Tam that made our trip almost hassle free and leaving us with beautiful memories of Sapa and Hanoi. Trekking Sapa must treasure all its staff and facilitate them to deliver their best. Lucie-Singapore

"The trip was amazing"
De La Baie d’Halong aux Temples d’Angkor , December 2012
Reviewed On: Feb 13, 2019I just finished a three day two night trek with Trekking Sapa. It was one of the best travel experiences I have ever had. The trek was booked about four months ago completely online. They handled everything from booking the overnight train from Hanoi, transportation from Lao Cai to Sapa (about 50 mins), and we were dropped off at Trekking Sapa office in the center of town. We were met with a free breakfast, a warm shower, and of course lots of smiles. I booked the Northern, off the beaten path, route where there were less tourists. The two night were at homes at homestays with warm beds and showers. Dinners were prepared by the owners of the homestay where I learned to make a couple Vietnamese dishes. The food was amazing. My guide from the Black Hmong tribe. She spoke excellent English so was able to learn a lot about her traditions and the life of the tribal people in the area. By the end of the trek, I felt that I had a life long friend. If you decide to book a trek, and I highly recommend you do, bring a day pack with a couple changes of clothes. Nights and mornings were chilly but days were warm, especially once we started hiking. Good hiking shoes are a must as well as rain coat. Water can be bought from the homestay and I filled up a water bottle to carry. I had so much fun with the Trekking Sapa and will definitely be back to explore more of beautiful Northern Vietnam. De La Baie d’Halong aux Temples d’Angkor , December 2012
Reviewed On: May 01, 2018If you're looking a SAPA tour away from all the tourist traps and shenanigans, look no further. This small company caters to people who want to learn, and experience the no frills, day to day lives of the SAPA remote communities away from the hordes of tourists. We took the one day trekking tour and were in awe. We first started with a walk to the local market to purchase our lunch - we had mushrooms, chicken, pork and tofu with a ton of vegetables. Our guide then brought us to a remote rice paddy in the mountains and we trekked for the better half of the day until we reached a small village where a family helped us cook our lunch. Exceptional views, amazing company. We then trekked back down. We were lucky that the weather was perfect - if it is raining, you WILL need hiking boots. I will recommend this company to all who wish to experience sapa away from the tourist traps. See up the excellent work! Molly Hingtgen – United States

My favourite moment of that day was standing out on the verandah as the kids ran through the village home from school and imitating animals with them while they all laughed at me. If you get to Sapa, there's not really any other place to do these things. Thanks for Dung and Mr Hong and the team for being heroes to my group :) Ms.Vember Mortlock -United Kingdom

Reviewed On: Sep 07, 2017We had such an incredible night at Mu home, cooking and drinking some of her home-made rice wine. The moment we walked into the doors of TrekkingSapa we were greeted with open arms and were taught all about the Hmong people and villages. I knew very very little about these people and the history of these people. I would encourage anyone thinking of touring Sapa to explore with a local guide. Our hike to Mu's home led us through many people's homes and backyards. We shared food an drink with strangers and family. We brought fresh meat and vegetables to people's home along the way and shared lunch with them. As the name implies this is an extremely ethical tour that promotes health and wealth in the local villages who, without the support of TrekkingSapa, would not be as educated and given the opportunities they now have. We even helped prepare the evening meal !! The food was amazing, certainly could not have been any fresher, since it was picked from her garden. Our second day of trekking was more challenging, but Sang was totally attentive to us. That night was spent in her home, where we got to meet her husband and children. Again, another wonderful meal. The most important part of this experience is that this organization was established to benefit the Hmong people, financially and educationally. The owner, herself a hmong has become an international figure in promoting sustainable tourism. So please, if you are thinking of trekking, please book with TrekkingSapa!!! Ishaan -India

United KingdomThe 3 days trekking escapade in beautiful Sapa and visiting the many villages was most exciting and fulfilling!!

South KoreaSo, my family and I travelled to Hanoi, Vietnam.

SingaporeIt was a random enquiry email to Trekking Sapa that linked me to Tam.

United StatesThe passionate integrity and commitment of Mr Hong and Ms My and driver to maintaining the culture of the TrekkingSapa tribes people and preserving their landscape and privacy, while at the same time offering them real practical support, transmits itself to all who participate in their project. As a tourist, you are made to feel a vital part of this project, so in addition to a wonderful touring experience you come away with a deep sense of satisfaction at having been able to contribute in your own small way to ensuring that what we understand by 'Sapa' will still be there for future generations. New ZealandI just finished a three day two night trek with Trekking Sapa. We're truly impressed with the way how My guided us throughout the journey. She briefed us about what to wear and bring and ensure everything was perfect before we start the journey. United StatesIf you're looking a SAPA tour away from all the tourist traps and shenanigans, look no further.

United KingdomIt's worth every cent, every hour in a bus or train to go here. The experiences we had over 2 tours will always stay with me for the rest of my life. I'll go back, but for longer next time.

CyprusWhat I will say is, this trip is very much about meeting the local Hmong people and getting to know the tour guide. It seems to me all the tour guides we met at TrekkingSapa were lovely and in our case we felt we couldn't have gotten any luckier than having Mr Hong! Overall, it is definitely something we are really pleased to have experienced. We loved Mr Hong and our guide Mr Ngoc and we are so grateful we were able to stay in local house and experience the way of life of the Hmong tribe. Thanks to TrekkingSapa for organising and facilitating the trip and for the great work you're doing with the community. Mr.Andreas Myrianthis -Cypriot

MaltaWe booked a tour at TrekkingSapa. this was very special. Before booking they explained to is how they Hmong people live and why they do what they do in order to survive. It gives a good perspective on things here in sapa. We had a private tour with My a Hmong girl wich take us to the market. We bought some food and then we went to her village to eat it with her family. This was very special for us and we really saw how here tribe lives. She speaks very good English and had answers to all our questions. We felt very much at home and we could ask here anything. After lunch we hiked down the very beautiful valley. It was one Of The best hikes we have ever made. We've learned a lot about her people and its a very special way of living. I would recommend it very much. Ms.Pippa Arrigo - Maltese

MalaysiaWe had such an incredible night at Mu home, cooking and drinking some of her home-made rice wine. It was a Magical experience! I Highly recommend. You cannot miss this experience if you come to Sapa Chang Hua Go – Malaysia

IndiaMy husband and I recently completed the 8 days trip in the North of Vietnam and we never forget our 3 day 2 night homestay tour. Our guide, Sang ,made our experience a truly memorable one! We trekked the first day for about 4 hours and spent the night in a lovely home with a warm, friendly and kind family.
