Expand All Day 1: The night train to Lao Cai station
20.00pm – TrekkingSapa’s tour guide come to pick you up from your hotel then transfer to Ha Noi Railway Station and catch the night train to Lao Cai (overnight on the train, the cabin with 4 berths, soft sleeper and air-conditioning). Arrive Lao Cai 5:30 or 6:00am.
Sapa is the focal point for mountain travel in Vietnam, and is a riot of colour and atmosphere as people from the myriad ethnic minorities of the hills gather in the markets.
The ‘Flower Hmong’ wear rainbow-coloured smocks, while the Red Dao’s traditional costume is a more muted indigo but topped off with a bright red headdress. When all of the mountain people congregate, the result is a feast for the eyes and the senses.

Sleep on Train Day 2: Muong Hoa valley - Giang Ta Chai village
The train arrives at around 6:00 am. Look for the “Trekking Sapa’s Logo & Your Name” sign when you exit the train station, as our guide will pick you up there and transfer to the former hill station of Sapa. In the terraced hills and mountains of this area, the expansive green landscape is enlivened by the colors of its hill tribe population – flashes of shining silver jewelry from the necks and wrists of indigo-clad H’mong and the scarlet hues of the turbans worn by the Red Dao can be seen. It is here you will find hands stained with color from fabric dyes and shades of blue, red and green intricately embroidered and stitched into jackets, waistcoats, pants, skirts, caps, purses and leggings.
After having breakfast at local restaurant, a short rest and some last preparations before our Sapa trip. Take a car along road to Muong Hoa Valley, on the way you will explore the life of ethnic minorities, admire the spectacular natural scenery with the terraced rice fields. Visit Sa Pa’s ancient rock with engraved images, both big and small – unique patterns of the ancients. Admire the Bridge which is made by clouds, cross the picturesque Muong Hoa stream to visit Ta Van Village where H’mong and Day minority to live.
Arrive in Giang Ta Chai village to visit Red Dzao, you will explore the life of ethnic minorities, admire the spectacular natural scenery with the terraced rice fields, the natural beauty of Silver Waterfall and Rattan Bridge. Continue on to Ban Ho Village to visit Tay people. Check in the room then you have dinner at homestay.
With ‘Homestay’ experience, your overnight accommodation is provided by a local family in their traditional house-on-silts. There are some private rooms on the first floor for priavte tour and you will have toilet or bathroom sharing. The sleeping corner is set up with a single mattress (thin, but adequate), blankets (ditto), pillow and mosquito net. The restroom is at standard and a few steps from the main house.

Following a breakfast with local people, enjoy marvel at the breathtaking scenery morning, then leave the village for a waterfall which found by French people. Enjoy a short walk to explore this large village of the Red Dzao people in NamToong and then continue on to Thanh Phu village and Ban Ho Village.
You’ll visit with some local families and learn about their daily lifestyle and fascinating culture, before departing to the main road to return to Sapa. Late afternoon, the car will pick you up for the night train back to Hanoi. Arrive at Lao Cai train station and take the night train back to Hanoi.

Really amazing experience. My best trekking ever so far, the nature and the view is wonderful. Our local guide Phinh from black Hmong community Spoke a really good English. she brought us to her auntie’s house after couple of hours walking in the mountain to prepare and eat a really good lunch with her family. It was also a good moment to try their homemade rice alcohol ! Then we went back to the trekking until we reached out her village and her home. They lived a simple life but people looks happy. We enjoyed another good dinner with her family. Don’t go there if you expect an easy walk in the mountain or if you think you will sleep as well as in an hotel. This people do not have shower, inside bathroom or even electricity in some cases. Go there to see about how they live and learn about another culture and way of life. This was an awesome experience for both of us. The people are very friendly and welcoming. During our whole experience we were able to decide what we wanted to do such as where we wanted to hike or eat which was great as we went on tracks where there were not many tourists. As I promised you I would write some my comment here to introduce you ( trekkingSapa company ) to our friend and travelers all over the world. We obsolutely enjoyed our 6nights 5 days in Sapa. The local people were so kind and hospitaly to show us their normal life by let us joined their works, shared their house in Ban Ho, the Tay village. We also loved the Muong Hum market, the very colorful one in the last day of Sapa trip. All your services were perfect: Victoria Hotel, foods, tour guide (Hao), good car... We highly recommend you to all our friends.

The tour guide will be a local village girl dressed in her ethnic costume. According to the itinerary, it is a 15km trek but in fact it is shorter than that. Lots of uphills and downhills. Make sure to have comfortable walking or trekking shoes.

NetherlandsReally amazing experience. My best trekking ever so far, the nature and the view is wonderful. Our local guide Phinh from black Hmong community Spoke a really good English. she brought us to her auntie’s house after couple of hours walking in the mountain to prepare and eat a really good lunch with her family. It was also a good moment to try their homemade rice alcohol ! Then we went back to the trekking until we reached out her village and her home. They lived a simple life but people looks happy. We enjoyed another good dinner with her family. Don’t go there if you expect an easy walk in the mountain or if you think you will sleep as well as in an hotel. This people do not have shower, inside bathroom or even electricity in some cases. Go there to see about how they live and learn about another culture and way of life. I will never forget it and I’m glad I did this tour with TrekkingSapa.com which seem more sustainable than the other one. Constant Sluijs – Netherland

United StatesWe did the 2 days homestay experience with Sang. Sang was a very informative guide with a lovely nature. We got to spend the night at her home in the village with her family. This was an awesome experience for both of us. The people are very friendly and welcoming. During our whole experience we were able to decide what we wanted to do such as where we wanted to hike or eat which was great as we went on tracks where there were not many tourists. As I promised you I would write some my comment here to introduce you ( trekkingSapa company ) to our friend and travelers all over the world. We obsolutely enjoyed our 6nights 5 days in Sapa. The local people were so kind and hospitaly to show us their normal life by let us joined their works, shared their house in Ban Ho, the Tay village. We also loved the Muong Hum market, the very colorful one in the last day of Sapa trip. All your services were perfect: Victoria Hotel, foods, tour guide (Hao), good car... We highly recommend you to all our friends.

SingaporeAnyone who wants to go Sapa, it is recommended to join the trekkingSapa tour. The view is simply incredible. The tour guide will be a local village girl dressed in her ethnic costume. According to the itinerary, it is a 15km trek but in fact it is shorter than that. Lots of uphills and downhills. Make sure to have comfortable walking or trekking shoes.
