20.00pm – TrekkingSapa’s tour guide come to pick you up from your hotel then transfer to Ha Noi Railway Station and catch the night train to Lao Cai (overnight on the train, the cabin with 4 berths, soft sleeper and air-conditioning). Arrive Lao Cai 5:30 or 6:00am.
Sapa is the focal point for mountain travel in Vietnam, and is a riot of colour and atmosphere as people from the myriad ethnic minorities of the hills gather in the markets.
*** It takes about 8 hours to go from Hanoi to Lao Cai by night train.

Sleep on Train Day 2: Sapa - Ban Ho - Thanh Phu - Sin Chai
The train arrives at about 6:00 am. Look for the “Trekking Sapa Logo & Your Name” sign when you exit the train station, as our guide will pick you up there. Take a morning drive through the clouds by car / van to Sapa, about 1.5 hours. When you arrive in Sapa you will be taken to a local restaurant for a morning shower, breakfast, a short rest and some last preparations before our inspiring trek. At about 10h00am,leave from Sapa by car ride along MuongHoa valley to visit Ban Ho village (Tay minority)
The day commences with a drive to the trekking route. The trek starts by walking through the incredibly scenic ” Ban Ho” valley. Here you will have the opportunity to visit and explore the wooden houses, which traditionally belong to the Tay ethnic minority. You will then continue to walk to Thanh Phu village where you stop for lunch in a local house.
After lunchtime, you head to Sin Chai village of red Dao minority where the night will be spent in bamboo huts. You will be attracted by the wonderful hospitable atmosphere of the red Dao.
With ‘Homestay’ experience, your overnight accommodation is provided by a local family in their traditional house-on-silts. There are some private rooms on the first floor for priavte tour and you will have toilet or bathroom sharing. The sleeping corner is set up with a single mattress (thin, but adequate), blankets (ditto), pillow and mosquito net. The restroom is at standard and a few steps from the main house.

You start the trek today by walking downhill toward the My Son village, which belongs to the Xa Pho ethnic minority, one of the smallest group’s ethnic in Northern Viet Nam. After one and a half hours walk to the Red Dao village of Nam Toong, lunch will be prepared and served.
After lunch you will descend back to Ban Ho village, where you will be able to enjoy a swim at the nearby beautiful waterfall of Lavie. You will then ascend to Su Pan, where the car is waiting to take you back to Sapa.In the affternoon back to Lao cai Train Station – Night Train back to Hanoi.

You get to experience the scenic mountains and valleys, complete with paddy terraces and rivers, visiting the minority tribes in their multicolored traditional dresses. Although some may recommend tours from Hanoi, I highly recommend exploring the place with the TrekkingSapa company. There are some whom you can contact to have real-life homestays. To experience the real thing, go with the TrekkingSapa so that you can experience staying in a real farm house. If you need more info, buzz me up.
