Expand All Day 1: Ha Noi – Overnight Train to Lao Cai station
You will have dinner by yourself and free time until about 20.00, our tour guide come and pick you up from your hotel and transfer to Hanoi Railway Station where you will catch the overnight train to Lao Cai. * It takes about 8 hours to go from Hanoi to Lao Cai station by night train

Sleep on Train Day 2: Lao Cai – Transfer Sa Pa – Fansipan – Sa Pa – Topas Riverside Lodge
The train arrives at around 6:00 am. Look for the “Trekking Sapa’s Logo & Your Name” sign when you exit the train station, as our guide will pick you up there and transfer to the former hill station of Sapa.
After having breakfast at local restaurant, you will leave for Fansipan cable station. As you know the cable car in Sapa is the world’s longest and highest cable car, running up from sleepy Sapa Town in Lao Cai Province to the peak of 3,143-meter Fansipan Mountain, known as Indochina’s rooftop. Enjoy the view from the highest point of this incredible mountain. The lush green and subtropical vegetation makes this mountain really very beautiful. Take some pictures for unforgettable experience from the top. After taking scenery then get cable car back to Sapa. Lunch will be served in the local restaurant.
In the afternoon, our driver and guide will transfer to Topas RIVERSIDE lodge. Via Thanh Phu Bridge, followed by another short transfer to Nam Cang village. Once arrives you will walk through the village, cross a private bridge and check into your private room in the comfortable Topas Riverside Lodge. Nam Cang locates in the most remote area of Sapa and the Red Dao women wear some of the most colorful and diverse costumes of all Vietnam’s ethnic groups. Herbal bath, plant medicine and embroidery are some of the things that the Red Dao are very skilled at. Accompanied by your guide, you will explore around the village and learn how the local villagers make writing paper from rice, silver jewelry or embroidery.
Along the walk, you will encounter with the locals walking with their barefoot. The higher you go, the more you will be inspired by the origin of the nature. Along the trail you will meet many different kind of trees, bamboo, and herbs. The cardamoms are planted in this area, it is a special spicy use for cook some tradition dishes. Listen to the sound of nature and birds, you will soon meet a clear river, running out from mountain. Here is a nice spot for you to stop for relax, enjoy the nature, deep your feet into the cool water. You will spend some more time to explore the surrounding forest before going back. Your dinner is served at the Lodge with warmly atmosphere. Approx: Grade: Easy/ 2.5 – 3 hours walking. Add on: Join a local woman and pick your own mixture of herbs and spend the evening in a special traditional bath, based on your blend. The herbal bath and tour must be pre-booked and paid by your own.

You will wake up in the sound of nature. The day starts with a nice breakfast served just few meters from the river.
Today’s hiking will commence from Nam Cang village on quiet road for short walk before turn into the beautiful rice valley. The small trail leads you through rice terrace and stream where you can take some great picture of the beautiful landscape.
At the harvest or growing season you will meet local working hard on their field, buffalos then be used for plowing the field. The trail is soon getting steeper until Nam Nhiu village, inhabited by Red Dao ethnic. You will meet the local villagers and a chance to visit their house, experience the life as mostly rice farming. The Red Dao women are very skill at making beautiful embroidery and keep their culture of shaving hair and eyebrow.
Your picnic lunch will be served at Nam Nhiu before continue on a nice track in mountainside with beautiful rice valley below. The trail leads you to Sin Chai where you will take a short walk on the road before turn to trail along the valley. You will finally finish at Thanh Phu for car pick up then transfer you to Topas Ecolodge. The rest of the day is spent at your leisure. Distance: Trekking: 11.6 km hiking/ 5 hours; Thanh Phu – Topas Ecolodge: 1.5 hours driving.

IrelandNice trip, we learnt something about the villages at Sapa and saw the beautiful nature! Food was also good! We walked through some villages, saw their houses, animals and their school and walked trough the bamboo forest and rice fields. The guide provided some background stories and the locals could even speak a little bit English. Bryan-Ireland

FranceExcellent experience, we learnt a great deal about the way of life of the hilltribe people. But beware of muddy when it rains (Topas Ecolodge will also lend you Wellington boots if it's muddy). This was mostly because of our guide Sang who was such an engaging and informative host we learnt so much about the Hmong way of life. Trek challenging at times with muddy tracks and humidity. SpainFrom start to finish this tour was well organised. The correspondence before the trip was great and very informative. The train to Sapa was great . In Sapa our guide was fantastic and her local knowledge was great. She was able and willing to answer any questions that we had. The food organised by the tour guide was great. The hotel was also amazing. I would definitely recommend getting a tour guide for Sapa as their local knowledge made the trip very worthwhile Maria-Spanish
